Dear Tran,
  Yes, it should be relatively easy for you to write a "ColorResID" 
script that takes a resid list, a color, and a rep index or a 
representation type and create a new VMD rep with the selected
characteristics.  All you'd really be doing is automating the 
process you described in the text below with a simple script.
Let us know if you need help with your script.
