Hi,
System freezes like the one you're experiencing are almost always
the result of a bad video driver. If you've read the VMD Linux release
notes, this is one of the most common problems people encounter when
using VMD with the standard-substandard video drivers shipped by the
linux distributions out-of-the-box. To cure this problem you should
proceed immediately to downloading and installing a vendor-provided
video driver for the video chipset on your machine. That has a good
chance of curing your problem, with only a few noteworthy exceptions.
