Hi VMD experts,
I am trying to install VMD 1.8.6 on my PC (Mandriva2008)
After downloading the tar.gz file I did gunzip and tar-xvf on the
respective files.
The I continued with configure and make install as mentioned in the README
file.

Here is what i see on configure
[root_at_localhost vmd-1.8.5]# ./configure
using configure.options: LINUX OPENGL FLTK TK ACTC IMD SPACEBALL
LIBTACHYON VRPN NETCDF TCL PYTHON PTHREADS NUMPY SILEN

And after make install:
[root_at_localhost src]# make install
Make sure /usr/local/bin/vmd is in your path.
VMD installation complete. Enjoy!

But when i try to run vmd
[satyan_at_localhost ~]$ vmd
Bad : modifier in $ (/).
 - this is the error i face.
Any suggestions.
