If you're talking about the atomselect writemol2 command (there is no
independent writemol2 command), it is broken in the latest alphas, but
will be fixed soon.
To write a mol2 though, you have to do
$sel writemol2 file.mol2
for some atomselect object sel; you can't just do
writemol2
