Hi,
  For this and other reasons, the startup script for the next
version of VMD will just execute from the current shell rather
than automatically launching a new xterm window. Those that prefer
the old behavior will be able to use shell aliases to keep things
working that way, but otherwise there won't be a dependency on
xterm anymore.
