I have recently acquired a set of stereoscopic glasses 60GX. I intend to
use them with a Pentium-class based hardware running under Linux RedHat 7.2
(and probably I will update it to 9.0, if convenient). The system has a
Nvidia Quadro4 550XGL graphic board. I have already configurated the driver
for the graphic board -just a basic configuration, without any option. The
system uses a monitor Hitachi CM751. I intend to use these hardware to
visualise molecules in 3-D with VMD. I have several problems, and I shall
be very pleased to receive some assistance for the following issues:
1- I must confess that I have very reduced experience on configuring
graphic boards. I presume the I have to include several options to the
/etc/X11/XF64Config-4 file, to have the appropriate syncronisation signal -
if I understood the principle of functioning of the glasses. Unfortunately,
Nvidia does not give any support, at least as it is indicated in their web
site. I have just sent a message for help to Nuvision people also. Have you
any experience to such configuration, and/or do you know where can I get
the information? Any suggestion will be appreciated.
2- When I put the VMD (1.7 or 1.8) in the crystal glasses or anaglyph
modes, I see two images distorted, one on the top and the second in the
bottom. In the interleaved mode, I can see (correctly?) two images
superposed, but as soon I change window, the image become only one. I guess
that it happens because the program does not realy detect the stereographic
harware, because is nor correctly configures. Any suggestion.
any suggestion is wellcome!
