Hi,
  Try adding Tcl ::http::config calls to your .vmdrc file, to setup
your local web proxy:
  http://www.tcl.tk/man/tcl8.5/TclCmd/http.htm
  http://www.tcl.tk/man/tcl8.5/TclCmd/http.htm#M6
