Sorry, nothing built in. The snapshot method could be done with a triggering a screenshot software -- but, yes, clumsy and not ideal for examining a trajectory. Making this is a built-in feature (e.g.. updates by tracking current frame or a slider) is on the list for contact map development (which needs updating anyway) in the next 2-4 months.
