it may not be, it *is* a 32-bit OS.

no.
also, since .xtc files are compressed,
even having a 64-bit OS and binary by
itself isn't sufficient. you also need a *lot*
of ram. or you will have to split the file
into parts or in case of scripted analysis
use tools like the bigdcd script to process
data while it is being read in.
