Hi,
  Yes. My recollection is that aside from the clone reps GUI, there are
(were?) one or two other plugins that also need to be revised to work
properly on Tk 8.6.x when I last tested it.

I have a full Tcl/Tk 8.6 test build of VMD on ARM (because Tk 8.5.x had
some serious problems on ARM) that I can use for testing, but I haven't
had a chance to work on fixing the affected plugins yet.
