Mauro,
Despite Apple blocking you from running VMD on the M1 via the normal
GUI icon, you should be able to run it by launching it yourself from a
terminal window, e.g., similar to this (fix the paths for your actual installation):
/some/dir/VMDxyz.app/Contents/vmd/vmd_MACOSARM64
Apple has begun limiting access to MacOS, and is starting to require
cryptographic signing of apps, thereby restricting who can ship MacOS
software going forward. At present, they seem to be putting this limitation
in the graphical startup code, as you can bypass it by running VMD (or other
unsigned apps) from the command line still.
